F1 LIVE: Max Verstappen is furious as Lewis Hamilton threatens to cost Mercedes millions of dollars

The F1 season is two weeks away from the summer break but the driver silly season is already in full swing. Lando Norris’ manager met with Red Bull during the British Grand Prix, sparking rumours that the McLaren star could replace Sergio Perez.

Norris’ current deal does not expire until 2025 but Perez has been underperforming for the Constructors’ Championship leaders and they may look to shake-up their team.

However, Max Verstappen has warned Norris off from ditching his current outfit, claiming the grass is not always greener.

He said: “People often say that the grass is greener on the other side, but this is often not true. And I think that’s important to remember in situations like this.”

McLaren warn Verstappen
McClaren chief Zak Brown has warned Red Bull’s Max Verstappen that he won’t be at the very top forever.

He told Sky Sports Formula One: “Someone will eventually catch Max, hopefully, it’ll be us.

“Chances are it’ll be a handful of people but I mean he’s doing an unbelievable job and it is great to see world champions at the top of their game.

“So you’ve got to admire what he’s doing but I think once you look past Max, the field is unbelievably condensed and I think it’s going to get more exciting as we go forward.”

Ricciardo’s AlphaTauri target
Daniel Ricciardo has admitted he simply wants to get AlphaTauri into the top 10 in some races once he returns to F1 in Hungary next weekend.

Their best finishes this year were back-to-back P10s from Yuki Tsunoda in Australia and Azerbaijan.

And the returning Ricciardo said:

“I know the team… It’s been tough to get a points finish this year, a top 10, so to push this car and try to get it inside the top 10, I think that would get everyone pretty fulfilled and excited.”
